XTRA began in 1995, at the transformative epoch of Malaysia’s development. This was the time of the iconic Petronas Twin Towers and world-class KLIA airport with many other sophisticated buildings and interiors coming to the forefront. Foreign consultants and returning Malaysians from the design industry found XTRA’s offering of leading contemporary European brands, which resonated with their design sensibilities for the creation of their world-class projects.
With this heightened design consciousness, XTRA grew from a humble 1,000 sqft space into an expansive 20,000 sqft design gallery at The Gardens Mall. XTRA kitchen, XTRA office, XTRA design features the world’s foremost brands in kitchen, wardrobe, office furniture, designer indoor/outdoor furniture and lighting. These brands include the world’s best kitchen in bulthaup, lema, republic of fritz hansen, vitra, minotti, poltrona frau, louis poulsen, and dedon as well as ergonomic office furniture such as okamura and humanscale – among many other highly sought after brands.
XTRA turned 21 on December 2016, commemorating over two decades in Malaysia, which is a monumental landmark. Our passion for design has been unwavering and we continue to provide design solutions to our clients in the private and contract spheres. Under XTRA contract, our consultants deliver excellence to very specific high end project requirements, optimising aesthetics and perfecting the function.
